Web Hosting

Post by awt111 »

I plan on hosting my own website but am alittle unsure of exactly what needs to be done to do so.

Here is what I have/done so far.
Purchased domain name
Computer setup with Win2k/IIS
Static IP from cable connection

What i am unsure about is how to i link my static IP to the domain name.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

It all depends on where you got your domain name from. There are two things you can do, you can redirect everything that points to the domain name to the ip, or you can setup a nameserver where you point the domain name to and that will allow people to visit your site via url.
